
Six of Emma’s eight children are turned over to Barnardo’s Homes by parents, though I doubt Emma had a say.
Emily aka Emma, the eldest child was over fourteen years old and married. The Kite family had two boys but Arthur died in a bicyle accident. William (my father) remained the only one with a Kite name. A name he changed to a “y” as in Kyte in 1941, as did his sisters in Canada.
